Episode 122: Finding Fulfillment in Your Career

In this episode, Luz chats with Brenda and Jennifer about finding fulfillment in your career and what has led them to make changes, if any,  along the way. The factors that make a job or career feel fulfilling can vary from one person to another but the key is to figure out what matters to you and align your career accordingly.

In this episode you will hear from:

  • Brenda, a first gen college grad who has been working in the healthcare industry since she graduated. Although Brenda has changed jobs within the industry she has identified the factors within the industry and type of role that she has that provide a fulfilling career for her. By identifying the characteristics of her job that she enjoys and keep her going she has been able to determine when a change may be needed.

  • Jennifer, a first gen college grad who has been working as a primary teacher at various schools for most of her career. She recognizes both the challenges and rewards in the industry and finds education fulfilling as long as she is able to navigate the balance between the two. Knowing that she is able to make a difference in her student’s learning journey has been a key factor in keeping her in education.
