We don’t always know what career path is right for us. In this episode, Luz chats with two first gens about their experience with changing majors, how they realized it was the right decision for them, and the impacts changing their majors made in their journeys.

In this episode you will hear from:

  • Sara, a recent college grad who started with a chemistry major but realized her passions were more aligned with teaching. She tells us about how and when she realized that a change was needed and how that impacted her timeline both while in college and in preparing her for her career as a teacher.

  • Elaine, who is currently a PhD student and initially spent 15 scattered years getting her first university degree. She explains how her social class and poverty impacted her journey and initially prevented her from even knowing what her possibilities were. She tells us about her journey discovering new field and the many changes she made in her course of study as she went through her academic journey.
